About Marc

Marc Turner has been teaching oil painting in Warrington for over a decade. His approach is straightforward: small groups, honest feedback, and a studio atmosphere where getting things wrong is just part of learning.

Courses run from his studio in Warrington, Cheshire, and cover everything from your very first brushstroke through to more advanced techniques in light, colour temperature, and composition.

Why oil painting?

Oil paint is forgiving. You can rework it, wipe it back, let it dry and go again. It's the medium the masters used for a reason — and with a little guidance, it's more accessible than most people expect.

What to expect

Classes are small by design — never more than eight people. Every session involves painting from life or reference, with Marc moving around the room offering individual guidance. There's no pressure to produce a masterpiece; the goal is to enjoy the process and improve steadily.
